International Women’s Day is a global commemoration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This day also serves as a call for gender parity. Around the world, organizations come together to honor and celebrate the remarkable milestones women have achieved despite the continuing imbalance in gender rights and opportunities.

In the Philippine real estate industry, women are breaking barriers in a sector that plays a vital role in national development. From executive boardrooms and large-scale construction projects to innovative marketing strategies and global investment initiatives, Filipinas are stepping forward as decision-makers, strategists, and industry builders.

One inspiring example is Liezel Tuason-Magpoc whose journey reflects what passion, resilience, and determination can accomplish.

From Vision to Global Expansion

The story of Sta. Lucia Marketing began as a vision within a larger real estate legacy. For decades, the Sta. Lucia Group has stood as a strong and enduring force in the Philippine real estate industry. Through Sta. Lucia Land, Inc., the group has transformed vast landscapes into thriving communities—developing master-planned subdivisions, high-rise condominiums, premier golf courses, and commercial centers across the country. As the company expanded, a new opportunity emerged: reaching Filipinos living abroad, particularly Overseas Filipino Workers, and helping them to secure their property investment back home.

Recognizing this potential, a small but determined department was formed within Sta. Lucia Land Inc. Its primary mission was clear. Bring Philippine real estate close to Filipinos abroad. Under the leadership of Ms. Liezel T. Magpoc, that small department began transforming into something bigger. She saw OFWs not simply as buyers, but as partners in nation-building. They were Filipinos working hard abroad who deserved accessible opportunities to invest in their future.

Under the leadership of Ms. Liezel T. Magpoc, this humble unit began to take shape. She saw the potential in strategically connecting with Filipinos abroad, not just as buyers but as partners in growth. In 2011, that vision took a bold step forward. The department was formally founded as Santalucia Ventures, Inc., the corporate name that would later become widely known as Sta. Lucia Marketing.

That same year, in September 2011, the company opened its first international office in London, United Kingdom. This marked Sta. Lucia Marketing’s official entry into global real estate engagement and demonstrated its commitment to serving Filipinos wherever they lived and worked.

Building Bridges Across Borders

From London, growth followed steadily.

Sta.Lucia Marketing expanded into major global hubs including Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Paris, and Milan. These branches strengthened the company’s connection with the Filipinos. In the Philippines, the company also broadened its presence across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, ensuring accessibility for Filipino homebuyers nationwide.  What began as a modest unit evolved into a bridge connecting Filipinos worldwide to quality real estate opportunities in the Philippines.  Through expanding offices, growing teams, and a strong focus on client relationships, Sta. Lucia Marketing became the exclusive sales and marketing partner of Sta. Lucia Land. The company has helped thousands of families turn their dream of property ownership into reality.

Leadership Beyond Titles

Today, as Chief Executive Officer and President of Santalucia Ventures, Inc., more popularly known as Sta. Lucia Marketing, Ms. Liezel Tuason-Magpoc oversees sales operations both locally and internationally. Her leadership goes far beyond her title.

She remains actively involved in pricing strategies, project positioning, sales administration, training, and overall marketing direction. This hands-on approach ensures that every department works toward one unified goal. Her leadership philosophy centers on people. She motivates sales partners, anticipates buyers’ needs, and responds with agility in a constantly evolving market. Through economic highs and challenging periods, her disciplined mindset has kept operations focused and forward-looking. For her, challenges are opportunities to refine strategies and strengthen the organization.

A New Era of Women in Real Estate

Her story reflects a larger movement within the industry. Women are no longer simply participating.

They are leading.
They are expanding markets.
They are inspiring teams.
They are shaping communities.
They are building lasting legacies.

In every project launched, every market expanded, and every dream home turned over to a Filipino family, there is a powerful reminder. When women lead with passion and determination, industries grow stronger and the future becomes brighter.

Today, as we celebrate women across the globe, may we continue to champion one another’s growth, open doors of opportunity, and lead with courage and purpose. Together, we build stronger communities and a brighter tomorrow.
Happy International Women’s Day!
