On May 22, 2024, an article released by Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) discussed an update about the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge Project. The project has now received its P64-billion financing from Beijing-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and is now set to go under construction this year.

The 32-kilometer (km) inter-island bridge starts from Barangay Alas-asin in Mariveles, Bataan, crosses Manila Bay, Corregidor Islands, and ends at Barangay Timalan in Naic, Cavite. The bridge aims to reduce travel time between the two provinces from 5 hours to 1.5 hours and designed to have energy-efficient streetlights and climate-resilient bridge alert systems.

Aside from reducing the travel time, let’s discuss what are the benefits the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge could bring to the citizens of Bataan.

Once the project is complete, the current 5-hour drive from Bataan to Cavite will be reduced to 1.5 hours.

Aside from that, raw materials from Bataan can arrive much more efficiently to the southern area of Manila and its nearby provinces, cutting the cost of gas, pollution, and time spent in NLEX and Metro Manila Traffic.

As the Bataan Province became easier to access by the locals from Metro Manila and Region 4A through the bridge project, investors are now looking forward on setting up or expanding their businesses in the province.

Additionally, the bridge will also allow for the development of seaports both in Cavite and Bataan, which is significant for local and international shipping.

The bridge project gives our real estate investors several rental opportunities.

  1. Rental income from people who want to live in Bataan
The construction of Bataan-Interlink Bridge opens more job opportunities within Bataan as well as bringing the locals closer to Metro Manila. These opportunities lure more people to move within Bataan.
  2. Rental income from people who want to rent commercial spaces
The bridge project is not only boosting residential demand but also sparking economic growth in Bataan.
With improved infrastructure, businesses are more likely to set up shop in the area, increasing the demand for commercial rental spaces. Real estate investors can take advantage of this by providing office spaces, retail outlets, and other commercial properties, thus generating substantial rental income from business tenants.
  3. Rental income from people who want to take a vacation in Bataan
Bataan is already known for its natural beauty and historical significance. The new bridge project enhances accessibility, making it a more attractive destination for tourists. Real estate investors can capitalize on this by offering vacation rentals or Air BnB’s such as holiday homes, villas, and apartments. With more tourists expected to visit, especially during peak seasons, investors can enjoy lucrative rental income from short-term vacation.
