Traveling between Cavite and Laguna just became significantly easier with the opening of the newest section of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX). On May 4, the 8.64-kilometer Subsection 3 was officially inaugurated in General Trias City, Cavite, extending the expressway from the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to the Governor’s Drive Interchange.

While the opening of a new road may seem like just another infrastructure development, its impact on the daily lives of commuters, businesses, and local communities is expected to be substantial. The newly opened segment can accommodate around 6,000 vehicles daily and is projected to help ease congestion on major roads connecting Cavite and Laguna.

One of the most noticeable benefits is the reduction in travel time. A trip between Biñan, Laguna and General Trias, Cavite that previously took about an hour can now be completed in just 26 minutes. For thousands of motorists who travel this route regularly, this means less time spent in traffic and more time dedicated to work, family, and other activities.

Beyond convenience, the new CALAX segment is expected to create positive economic opportunities across the region.
